Repairs, Maintenance & Valeting

It's so easy to let your horsebox just keep going without any attention, but this can end in disaster as well as devalue your lorry. An Annual Maintenance Check is essential to get rid of mould, moss and ingrained dirt including from the underside and roof areas. It is crucial to undertake a full inspection and greasing of all the seals, grommets, tack lockers, windows, skylights, partitions, water systems and interior. A drain down of water systems for winter, servicing the generator, battery checks, annual gas & electrical Habitation checks are all very important before the start of the next season.

There is clean and then there is “EQ Clean.” We don’t market a horsebox at EQ that hasn’t been thoroughly valeted. A proper valet brings out the best of a horsebox increasing its saleability. It also highlights areas that might need some maintenance. For example, some faulty wiring, leaks or dampness, or a damaged cupboard. These are small jobs that can easily be fixed before they turn into big problems. We can organise a pre-MOT inspection and any necessary repairs which we think could cause your vehicle to fail or be marked as an advisory. We can also sort out booking the MOT at the test centre and have the lorry presented for you, saving you time and hassle.

When did you last have your appliances tested in your horsebox? Before a lorry is sold at EQ, we complete a habitation check on the water, gas, electrics, etc. Even if you aren’t planning on selling your lorry, this check should be done regularly to reduce the risk of damages or accidents.
